Yes and no. I've never had a problem ripping one, but I'm not sure if it is due to MC10, the dvdrom drive I use, or the combination of the two. I do know that there are some CDs that I couldn't rip with EAC that MC10 had no problems with.

BTW, the CDs I deal with generally use Cactus Data Shield or Labelgate.

..AND the combination cdrom / program

I have found that MC often can cope with a copyprotected cd, and unfortunately sometimes can't. When MC can't, I have always had
succes using East CD-DA Extractor. It hasnt failed on me yet.

MC10 has ripped every copy-protected CD I throw at it, as long as I use PlexTools to put the drive into "single-session" mode first.  Without this, it doesn't cope with any of them.  So it's a system-dependent thing rather than a ripping program issue.

I have a LiteOn DVDrom drive. All I do is put the cd in the drive, start MC10 and rip the tracks. Never has given me a problem, and no, I don't take the included mp3s off of the disk.

Another thing to try is bypassing Autostart. Some cd's need autostart to use the copy protection.

i use a old sony cd-rom and i don`t have a problem with ripping with media center. depends the method to protect a CD, and the ability to a cd-rom and software to read this method.
