Bug with Vis?
« on: January 28, 2004, 04:45:13 pm »

I'm using a visualisation which shows cover art with the OnEquation of:

on=if(t<75,1,0);t=(t+1)%800

This is ideal for a Plasma monitor as there's no chance of burn in when playing a full album.  The problem is that if I select another album using /Play TREEPATH=xxx etc with the remote the visualisation does not get updated with the new cover art.  If I change the equation to 'always on' all is fine.

I tried the mjextman command for 'update vis' that I found in the included .csv file but this made no difference.  (I'm not sure what this command is for.)

Is this a bug? Can someone advise a workaround?

What does that equation do?

I have a plasma monitor as well and have been playing around with the idea of writing some burn prevention visualizations...

As I mentioned in the other thread it's from starfield by Chris.  Try a search.  If you can't find it I'll try and post a copy but I'm having trouble getting anything on my web space at the mo.

So is this a bug?  Why does cover art not update when the track changes?  And what does the mjextman command 10007 do?

Here's an example of a vis that shows the problem

If you let it run for a few tracks without touching it, it will usually keep displaying the cover of the first track
