OT-Pin to Start Menu Problem
« on: April 15, 2004, 08:13:40 pm »

Good Evening,
Sorry about the Off Topic post, But I am a little frustrated and I know that there are a lot of people here that are more proficient with Windows XP then me.

On the Start Menu were you have the "Pinned" files or applications, I have 3 items that no longer exist. When I click on them it says that it's not there and if I would like to remove it, I click yes and it doesn't remove it.

I have also tried:

Recreating the file and then removing it.
Right click the shortcut on the start menu and "remove from list"
I have spent the better part of today searching through Google and the registry.

Anybody have any idea's??

Thanks

Did you try right-clicking on it and selecting "Unpin from Start Menu"?

I noticed that 3 of mine don't have this option, but if I pin one manually, it gives me this option.  There is also the option "Remove from this list".

Tried those?

If I add something (Pin) to the start menu I can unpin it... But not these 3. There has to be some sort of reg hack to remove what's there. Unfortunately I have only been able to find a way to remove that function as a whole...
