When you have the Media Library displayed on the left side showing artist/album and you happen to have clicked on an artist to display their albums, it sure would be handy to be able to just type a letter on the keyboard and have the Media Library scroll to the artist with their first character in their name equal to the letter you typed.

Right now, it tries to scroll to an album under the currently selected artist. If it doesn't find a match, MJ gets "stuck" and just sits there. You can't auto-scroll by typing a letter (or series of letters) unless you close up (click the minus sign) the current artist's album listing.

If the album listing under the current artist doesn't contain a match with what is typed, MJ should then "jump" out of the current artist/album selection and auto-scroll to the artist that matches what was typed.

This would make it much easier to naviagate through large Media Library listings.

Totally agreed.

Tonight's build of MJ 9 will make this work just like you suggested.

This change probably won't make it into MJ 8.

If you're a keyboard man, like me, you can always press the left arrow to collapse (or close up) the current artist. It's a lot quicker than having to reach over for the mouse
