Importing OGG files does not import tag information.
« on: April 28, 2004, 04:07:23 pm »

Hello,

I am trying out Media Center to use with my iRiver HP-140.
Over the past month, I've used EAC to rip about 75 CDs so far to OGG Vorbis.
So the first thing I did was to try an import of all these OGG files.
It did the import, but it did not pick up any tag information at all.
All my tracks are named: Track # - Track Name.
When I get properties on the file withing Media Center, I get the name of the file as the Tag Info Name property, and no genre information or artist or album.

I also have about 200 MP3s, and I imported those and they worked fine with the tag information coming over and everything.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is it a bug? It is some setting I am not using? Is there a solution?

Thanks,

-- Sanjay

What encoder string do you use in EAC?

Here's mine (using User Defined Encoder)...

%s -q 8 -t "%t" -a "%a" -l "%g" -c "comment=EAC: ogg 1.01 @ q8" -G "%m" -d %y -N %n

10-27

I tag mine with MP3Tag and they import just fine. Most were ripped through QCD player with ogg plugin.

Oh man, I am terribly sorry. My brain seems to have gone home early, while I sit here at work still.  :P
I am using EAC to rip to wav and for no particular reason using oggdrop to do the encoding which I didn't remember to set up for the tagging, so off course my files have no tagging information.

Sorry all.
