Workout Smartlist?
« on: April 20, 2004, 04:02:22 pm »

I was hoping some of you might share your Smartlist settings for workout music?  I'm not really happy with my current workout smartlist...here it is:

Quote
[Media Type]=[Audio] ~limit=-1,2,[Artist] ~t=35 [Rating]=>=3 ~sort=[Random] -[Genre]=[],[Oldies]

It works OK but I'd like it to somehow distinguish between "slow" songs and "fast" songs (obviously eliminating slow songs and only playing "fast" songs to keep up with my workout).  I was thinking about using the Intensity and BPM fields for this but there isn't necessarily a true correlation between high intensity & BPM with a "fast" song.

Any ideas?  What do you use?

I just added a Custom field called "Gym," and I put a value of "Y" in the field when I want it included. Then I just use this Smartlist:

[Keywords]=[Gym] [File Type]=[mp3],[wma] ~s=123 ~sort=[Random]

This limits it to the "practical" limit of my 128MB mp3 player, which is 123MB.

Takes a lot of time to tag initially, but I thought alot about it and I settled on this because it gave me the best results.
