Help! Command line playing treepath problem
« on: April 21, 2004, 05:24:41 am »

I want to play the album which has 5 (not 55, not 50, not any other album with the number 5 in the tag field) as the info in the tag field "ID" from the top level view ID, and this is what I send to mjextman.exe:

mjextman.exe /PlayReplace TREEPATH=Media Library\ID/ID\5

Obviously this is wrong since I get the whole library (that is everything that's in the top level view group ID). Can somebody please tell me where the error is?

Also is this something that can be called from the SDK, and in that case how, or is this only for command line use?

I got bit by a new behavior in MC10 related to something like this. I had put my MC into "Audio"-only mode, which meant that my TREEPATH was wrong (since "Audio" mode hides the "Media Library" level).

I'm also assuming that the view scheme you are accessing has the "Populate Tree" checkbox enabled...

Finally, are all your front/back slashes in the right order?

Best,
Brad

Thanks, Brad! Yes, I have populate tree. And I'm not in audio mode, as far as I know. As for the fore and backslashes that's why I have included the whole line I'm trying with. Are there any errors in that as far as you can see?

Mastiff, you have a forward slash between ID & ID.  This should be a backslash.

Thanks, JLee! I also found another error by myself after you had pointed out that one: ID should only be there once, not twice. It tried to play the grop ID\ID, which does not excist. Everything's working now, except for one thing: The tree expands every time. But then the next command in that multigroup will just have to be the Windows message 17016 - collapse all!  ;D

I assume you are triggering this command via NR?  Can't you just use the 'LX Play...' function pointed at the required treepath.  This does not expand the tree.

You asume wrong.  ;D With NR I don't need this. This is for the IR remote system in my house and the ATI RF remote system in my car.
