How to import M3U list for burning?

I swear one time I figured out how to import a list of files from an M3U playlist file and then burn them to a CD.  When I select, File, Open Media, and choose the M3U file it says 'please select a file to play'  This is an M3U file created in Winamp 5.  I swear I did this before.  What am I forgeting?
