Ringing sound on track change
« on: May 12, 2004, 11:13:18 pm »

Terrible and loud ringing (repeating of a very short sample) for about 2 or three seconds during track change while playing ape-files.
The volume of this ringing is much louder than the correct playback. :o
I don't know with wich version this started, but it must be a vew versions back allready.

Try a test.
Get the standalone version of Monkey's Audio.
Copy two of the APE files to another directory.
Use the convert function of the standalone version of MA to convert the files from the older version to the 3.99 version of APE.
Play the two files and listen at the track change.
I'll bet the problem is gone.

I had the same thing here with both APE and APL files. Converting the APE files (including the ones the APL point to) solved the problem.

I'd further suggest that if you do convert, use Normal compression. The others do not save you that much disk space and do require additional CPU when you listen to them.
