How to import m3u playlists?

I was wondering how do you import m3u playlists?

 my situation is that i have old m3u playlists that i had exported and then my computer crashed and i lost everything but i had the playlists backedup. now that i have the computer up and running and media center 9.0 on, i need to import these playlists, i had attempted to drag and drop into existing playlist folders with no songs in them and it worked before. but now it doesnt work, how do i do it? :-\
