can't rip as power user in XP ?
« on: June 08, 2004, 05:20:48 am »

I've set up and used MC as an administrator on a new XP machine quite happily.

When I log in as another (power user) I can play files but not rip any CD's. (just reports failed for all tracks.)

I've tried setting all the users file locations to the shared folders and cloneing a new library to the shared directories as well but no luck.

What am I missing ?

Thanks,
Stephen

Try opening up the SCSI passthrough with this:
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/tmp/SetBurningRights.exe

I'm not sure if it applies to ripping as well as burning, but it's worth a try.

Thanks, and let us know what you find.

Matt,

Thanks, that has fixed the problem.  I guess this time I can't blame Bill Gates.
