This problem has existed for a long time for me and is still present in MC 10.0.148.

When MC comes to the end of playing (the last track in Playing Now), whatever sound is in a sound buffer somewhere gets repeated, and its not necessarily the very last fractions of a second that gets repeated.

The problem exists when using Direct Sound, but not when using Wave Out. If I set the Direct Sound playback buffer to a ridiculously low number, e.g. 0.05 seconds, the problem goes away - or at least I cannot hear it anymore.

Skip Silence doesn't seem to influence the problem one way or the other, nor does the Seeking or Stop settings.

I have the problem with my internal soundcard (ESS Maestro3 in a HP Omnibook 6000) and with my external Creative Extigy USB soundcard.

After watching the thread on sound being chopped off at the end of playing, I thought I might as well report a problem where the reverse is true.

A "Good" track for hearing this problem is "Bad" by Michael Jackson (pun intended ) which plays right up to the end (and then some).

Good find. It'll be fixed in the next builds of MC 10 and MC 11.

This problem was fixed in MC 10.0.149 (thanks!). Unfortunately this release also introduced a new problem at the same time, probably related to this fix or to the fix for sound being chopped off at the end.
