Keep Copied playlist in order.
« on: July 04, 2004, 04:29:55 pm »

I can I keep a playlist that I have to copy to my hard drive to write a cd, in the proper order. I have a nice slide show made but since mc won't burn discs on my old 4x burner I have to copy them to my hard drive and then burn them with my cdwriter software. I can't figure out how to keep them in order. Help need show for wedding anniversary.

You could name them such that they displayed in the correct order.  You could assign an order in MC, then use the "rename" function to include the order number as the first thing in the name.

I'm sure there are other ways of doing this, but that's the first thing that came to mind that would work with a different CD writing app.

When burning the CD go into options in the burn window and select file naming and custom.  There is an option to append the list order to the file name.  This is like what Larry was saying except MC does it automatically for you without affecting the original.

Except the question was asked because MC will not write to his CD writer.

That's correct -- you still need to do what I was saying and rename the actual files so that when they're burned to a cd in the other app, the correct order is maintained.

I just found out that MC will burn data files to a cd. It wouldn't burn wave files. So will try JLees suggestion. Thanks.

See I knew this all along which is why I answered your question before you asked it.  GHammer and lalittle just didn't know that I'm telepathic.  ;D

My mp3 music files are in order on the same cd.  :) :)

But mc will not play the music files in order but refers back to the old order or the order mp3 files are supposed to be played. ? ? HELP
