Transferring playlist/ratings to new computer?
« on: July 06, 2004, 10:46:27 pm »

I just finished building a new system and was fixing to install MC10 on it.

I have been using Media Center for awhile now and have a bunch of playlist and around 5000 songs that are rated.

It seems that I have seen threads related to this but my search did not turn up anything.

Can someone tell me where these settings and other preferences are stored and how is the best way to save and transfer them.

Thanx
C~

File>Library>BackUp on old PC.
File>Library>Restore on new PC.

Also copy the C:\...Media Center\Data directory to your new PC and of course all of your media files too.  Putting your media files in the same path on your new pc will make life easier.  If not just do a find/replace in MC after selecting all files in the list to replace the old path with the new one in the Filename (or similar - might be Filepath) field.

Playlists by the way are stored in the library back up.
