I access and control my music collection in two different ways:
1. Using NetRemote to control what is playing back from the main server in my living room.
2. Using the built in Media Server in J River to stream my music to other computers in my home.
So, my next step is to make my music available when I am at work. I have forced the media server to run on port 81, opened this port in my firewall and have enabeled authentication.
Now I start MC10 on my laptop at work ann connect to the server at home. Voila! My library magically appear on my computer at work.
But, when I try to start playing anything it I get an error:
--------
Media Center encountered errors while trying to play the last several files.
Windows Media Error:
Unknown error (0xC00D2F06)
Please make shure that the path in your media library points to the right location
--------
My music is WMA 96 kbps and I have 128 kbps bandwith out of my house.
1. What could be the problem? The music server works fine at home. Do I have to open more ports in my firewall?
2. Is there a way to stream my collection to a PocketPC?
3. Is there a way to use NetRemote to control the music collection AND have the music streamed down to the computer running NetRemote?
4. Have anyone made a WEB-gui or a free client that can play music from the J River Media Server?
