I only use MMJB for CDDB lookups but it's very annoying have to listen to that *%#$* opening splash screen wav. I have MMJB 7.5 (won't pay for the uprades). I found and deleted that wav file in a previous version, but can't seem to find where they hid it in this version. Anyone have any ideas?

Or, how does one remove the entire splash screen? At least Creative lets you turn their's off.

Off topic indeed. I guess that Musicmatch does not have anything like this forum. They are no match to J River.  

I found the next files in my MMJB program root directory:
mmjbstart.wav  and  splash.bmp

In the file userinfo.dat (open with notepad) you may find something like this:
<<Skip Startup Sound[[00000001]]>>
Try to change the last number to 1 or 0. Backup the file before.
You can experiment with other settings there, maybe there is a switch for the splash screen too.

I have v. 8.1, but it is possible that 7.5 is similar.

Also if it is not similar, 8.1 is a free upgrade to users of 7.5

Ahh...silence is golden! I found the files. There are actually 2. One is in 'MusicMatch' the other is in 'MusicMatch Update' I don't know which one has priority, so I just moved both of them into a new folder - 'start wav' and voila, silence.

To my chagrin, I still had an old inactive MusicMatch folder in C: MusicMatch, (due to copying folders from an old drive to a new one and not paying attention). I couldn't find the wav files because I had already removed them!

When I did a search for the wav files, sure enuff, they turned up in C: Program Files/Music Match. Duh. I had done a standard install instead of the previous custom install.

Lesson learned: Remember where you put stuff!

Thanks but I don't need the upgrade, I just use MMJB to look up LPs, but I like doing without it drowning out MC!
