If I add media files by scanning a directory and the folder contains more than 32 tracks (as with a box set) why does MJ always number Track 32 as Track 0 and leave a gap between Track 31 and Track 33

don't know, media center don't do that with rip cast

mj8 had a problem with track #'s

and thats because when track numbers are saved in id3v1.1 it is acualy saved on the last two bytes of the comment field.

so any chr that is on the comment field at the end will show up as a track #.

id3v1 did not have track nuumbers.

mj8 would pull track numbers from id3v1.1 tags, and not from the id3v2 tags. they played with this a bit so not sure what state the final version of MJ8 ended up with.

bottom line is it seems to be fixed in media center.

at least i have not seen any problems.

if you remove and turn off the id3v1.1 tags (in the plug-in manager) it should work fine.
