Playback on Pocket PC
« on: August 02, 2004, 05:19:59 pm »

Is there an audio client available for pocket PC that will connect to media server for playback on the PDA?

I want to be able to access my MC library over the WLAN to be able to playback on the PDA. I am currently using PocketPlayer which allows me to access mp3s through file sharing, but its a bit flakey at times >:(

I have started using MC recently along with Netremote which works very well for feeding the main music system in the house, but I want something that works through the WLAN and a pocket PC for personnal playback.

Is there anything out there? Is there anything planned?

Thanks
Simon

Read this thread:

Pocket PC client for media server
I don't think it is possible, because currently the only client software is a full MC installation. It downloads a copy of server's database before it can play anything....

Thanks. I thought I'd searched for this topic, but couldn't find it. :-[

Setting up a shoutcast server doesn't seem to solve the problem for me as I would like to be able to browse the whole library and choose. Netremote does this side of things very well, but obviously doesn't stream to the pocket PC.
