Can cover art be stored inside wave files?
« on: August 06, 2004, 03:19:04 am »

I have MC set to store cover art inside files.  When I rip to mp3's the art is stored in the files, but when I rip to wave it stays in the cover art directory.  Is this a limitation of wave files, or is something not working properly?

Thanks,

Larry

it is a limitation of wav files, there is no tagging system setup, it is basically just raw data.  Using something like Ape will allow you to tag your uncompressed files.  It will also save you space.

Thanks.  Unfortunately, I just discovered that wave files are still not gapless on the iPod, so I no longer have as much reason to rip as wave anyway.

Thanks,

It's a limitation of wav's in implementation only. Wav's are actually a container format (like ogg with vorbis inside) and can be tagged. With what though?...I don't know.
