Moving my music folder - Help!?
« on: August 12, 2004, 02:31:55 pm »

I just moved my music folder from my D: drive (D:\My Music) to my E: drive (E:\My Music).  In MC's options I changed the default path accordingly.  However, when I try to view my library in MC, the icons for all tracks are the grey 'missing file' icons.

How can  I change the filename tags for all tracks so that MC can find the files again (without having to re-import)??

Thanks,
Hakuin

 Library Tools > Find And Replace > Filename > D:\My Music\ with E:\My Music

I did this....and all 9000 filename (path) tags were replaced correctly....BUT.... when MC started to update the tags (when i hit refresh), i got an error saying that none of the tags could be updated because the files might be write-protected/read-only.

Before I did this, I made sure that the read-only attribute was not set for any file in the my music folder.

How do I get MC to write the tag changes???

In MC 11 you can move the files and there is a option to fix broken links.

I have moved my library and imported them using the fix links and it all worked great.

I think they also have MC 10 and 11 working side by side??
