Windows Media Errors
« on: January 24, 2004, 08:16:31 pm »

I cannot play non-protected WMA files in "Playing Now" view without getting the following error:
Playback Engine: Media Jukebox is unable to acquire license for this file.
Windows Media Error:  0x80070020

I cannot find JRiver’s explanation or fix for this issue.  Most threads point out that a problem exists and suggest to convert or not use them.  If there is a responsive answer to this issue or an official line from JRiver, could someone please direct me to it.

Another issue is that when trying to listen to certain radio stations listed in Web Media, I get the following error:
Playback Engine: Media Jukebox is unable to acquire license for this file.
Windows Media Error:  0xC00D0026

I have Windows Media Player 9.0 with most recent updates.

Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.400
Install Path: C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2568 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 522 MB, Free - 277 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows XP  Workstation 5.1 Service Pack 1 (Build 2600)

Internet Explorer: 6.0.2800.1106
ComCtl32.dll: 6.00.2800.1106
Shlwapi.dll: 6.00.2800.1276
Shell32.dll: 6.00.2800.1233
wnaspi32.dll: Internal ASPI Layer

Hi,

I am facing the same identical error in MJ 8. I was wondering if you ever got this issue resolved ? If yes, can you please help and let me know how ?

Nope. Unfortunately, the consistent line is to upgrade to Media Center, which I finally did even though I prefer the straightforward simplicity of Media Jukebox as I only want to listen to music.  JRiver doesn't really offer much support for MJ anymore, as you will note there hasn't been an update in close to a year.

Good luck.
