iRiver iHP-120 Trouble

Hey all,

I'm having trouble with a newly purchased iRiver iHP-120.  I installed the software that came with the CD and I plugged in the device and Windows didn't even recognize it as a removable drive.  I haven't been able to install the drivers manually either because it won't recognize the iHP as a removable device or any device at all.  It says on the iHP "connected" but Windows shows no sort of message saying its connected or not, the little icon in the bottom of my task bar isn't even there showing a removable storage device.  I've tried manually installing drivers and I've even tried iRiver's support and I'm lost without a clue of what to do.  I'm trying to fix it without having to return the device because I have no transportation back to the store.

If anyone can help me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

install this with a Custom Install, with all subsequent checkboxes ticked.
i also recommend getting their latest firmware (recently released) from their website, once your iriver is detected.
