I'm sorry if this has been asked or answered before. i did a few searches but wasnt sure what key words to use.

i would like to know if MC can be setup to follow rules that determine what song to play next. For example:  Im using SAM2  www.spacialaudio.com to stream my mp3 collection. This is where i first started using the play and request rules. In a very simple example SAM2 plays songs randomly from a determined playlist, but will not play the same artist in the next 60 minutes, will not play the same song in the next 6 hours. And when you use a web interface to request songs it will follow the same rules.  Its basicly like having a radio station thats plays according to these rules and users requests. At first i didnt really think to much of it, but what i discovered is that it gives me the best mix of random music. And the fact that requests have to follow the rules too gives a really good mix. I really enjoy listening to my collection this way.

does anyone think a plugin could be written to do this? or any other ideas?
