Syncing MC10 with Ipod
« on: September 25, 2004, 12:00:47 pm »

Hi!

I am new to MC, switched from MMJB and Itunes. I like it very much, but I ahve two problems when autosyncing with my Ipod:

1. Playlists dont sync - ie playlists I create in MC do not show up on my Ipod.

2. Syncing transfers not only audio files but also images and videofiles. THis is a waste of space on my Ipod.

Apparently I am doing something wrong. All my music files are 16 Gb, and my Ipod has 27.8 Gb free, so I dont want to sync only some playlists, I want to sync all my audiofiles, INCLUDING playlists, but excluding videofiles and pictures.

Any ideas, anyone?

antus,

Right click on your iPod drive letter in MC and select the option for 'Synchronization'. Using this option, select the playlists you want to send to iPod. Create playlists that exclude images and video files.

Of course I could do that, but then I'd have to create playlists of my entire library. Is it impossible to sync the entire audio library?

Creating a smartlist of your entire library isn't really that hard since the only variable needed is 'Media Type: Audio.'  Beyond that, there really isn't anything else that needs to be done.

Good Luck and hope this helps,

antus,

In addition, in the synchronization dialogue, there is an option to select for 'Select All Files'
