Hello,

What does the "mediafiles.jmd" file contain in the library?

I was just checking the data folder and noticed that I have 2 of them. The second is "mediafiles (1).jmd" and is dated March 13 2004. The other mediafiles.jmd is dated as of today. (For some reason, March 13 seems familiar... Maybe I rebuilt my PC around then... I'm not sure anymore).

Problem is, the old "mediafiles (1).jmd" is MUCH bigger. it is 170 MB versus 270 KB for the newer one.

I'd like to know if I can safely delete it or does it contain valis data that MC uses?

It should be safe to delete.

Make a backup first.

I move the old file out of MC's Data directory, but when I do a library backup, it still shows up in the "MC Library Backup (Default - 10-5-2004).zip" file.

What can I do to eliminate it?

Double-check the library directory in Library Manager.

Backup will only zip the .jmd files in the same folder as the current library.

Thanks Matt, That worked.

I didn't realize that I had 2 copies of the old 170 MB file, one in the Data directory and one in the proper directory for the Default data (as indicated by Library Manager).
