I have a bunch of m4a files that I need to import to MC.  I have the file type selected, I point to the right directory (or right-click on the files and select MC, Import), wait while it goes through all the list (or whatever it does while you are waiting, and it's counting up to your total number of files), it tells me if found new files, then it says something about importing the files, it takes a couple of hours to go through the 340ish files it says it's importing, then it comes up and tells me it found 0 files to import, and nothing get imported.

I've tried it twice, and same thing.

Note, the files I want it to import are showing the m4a extension, but are actually mp3 files (long story, in another thread), but I need MC to re-import them so I can fix the extensions on them.

Could you just use REN command with wildcard in the Command prompt:

REN *.m4a *.mp3

Do you have many folders? I don't think the REN command supports subfolders. I think there are also freeware tools for renaming. Maybe Google could help or www.tucows.com.

That worked perfect.  I had started trying to remane by hand.  That sucked.

Now we'll see if MC will import them for me.

It's almost as if I have the option to exclude previously deleted files, but I don't have that turned on.

One more time.  I'll let you know in an hour or 2 (seems WAAAYYYY too long to me)
