I've tried MC 11.0.97 and 11.0.98 on three computers and all three crash when I click on OK in the Rip CD Settings dialogue - that is the dialogue that you get when you click on the Options link in the CD Rip Action Window.
Pressing Ctrl+O or using the menu Tools, Options to enter the Rip Settings dialogue does NOT cause MC to crash when OK is clicked.
From the Dr Watson report:
AppName: media center.exe AppVer: 11.0.98.0 ModName: media center.exe

On one of the PCs MC System Info reports:

The 2nd PC is running Windows Server 2003 with only MC 11.0.98, LimeWire 4.0 and Adobe Reader 6.02 installed.
The 3rd PC is runing WinXP + SP2 and only MC 11.0.98 and Intervideo WinDVD 6 installed.
Anything that I can provide to assist in debugging this issue?
