Output Format + Seeking bug
« on: October 19, 2004, 06:38:42 pm »

I have had the same problem for quite sometime when using an output format of 5.1 and seeking through a track. Here's what usually happens:

I start playing the file, sound is in 5.1
If i skeep further down the track, it switches to stereo sound half the time
If i skeep again, it switches back to 5.1

This is weird and I was wondering what could be causing such a problem.

::::::::::::::EDIT:::::::::::
Just realized this also happens when skipping to the next track.

Sound card is Soundblaster Live! 5.1

What's converting from 2 channel to 5.1 channel sound?

Have you tried a soundcard driver update?

Thanks.

Well, MC is doing the converting (5.1 JRSS 2.0). I have been unable to update my sound card driver as the creative updater doesn't recognize my soundcard... In Hardware Devices, it does show up as a creative SoundBlaster Live! 5.1

I'm not sure what to do. I might have to call creative tech support.

Let me know if you got any other thoughts on the subject.
