How do I show a list showing just album artist and album name in one line (instead of expanding the album, showing all the tracks)?
Then it would read something like
The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night
The Beatles - Beatles For Sale
The Beatles - etc.
Ie, I will also need only two columns, but that is easily handled.
Any hints?

If you wan't just an overview over all your albums, you can go to "Action Window -> File Properties -> Statistics -> Artist/Album"

But to display in "Media Library" or "Playlists" I don't think it's possible. I'd be very much interested myself.

Create a calculated field and use that in the view scheme and visible column list.

The template would look like this:
[Album Artist] - [Album]

Forgive my ignorance, but I don't quite know what a calculated field is. I have created a view scheme, choosing Album Artist and Album, but it reads Album Artist/Album, and not like your suggestion. Could you please help me further?

You can create library fields with MC 10 and MC 11.

In MC 11, look in Options > Library.

For MC 10, look in Options > Tree & View > Library Fields

I think the help file may have some more details.
