MJ crashes
« on: October 27, 2002, 09:14:51 am »

I've been running mk 8.0 on my amd700 running win98se. program has been stable until I started trying to convert WAV or WMA files to MP3. I downloaded and installed the most recent update and problem still exists. I just tried ripping a cd with MP3 decoding set as the preference and MJ crashes when it starts to copy. The only thing I am able to get from windows is that an error occurs in a file located in WINOLDAP. I think that's what it says. I've got a different program that I've been using to convert files and it still works fine. any suggestions?
thanks.

For ripping to MP3, see if you get the same error if you uncheck the "simultaneous rip/encode" option.

I think it has nothing to do with encoding. I bet your system crashes after a while no matter what you do... I'm having the same problem and returned to MJ7 which works fine.

I think the WINOLD message has something to do with DOS. Maybe WIN98 and MJ8 do not go very well.
