Importing one directory searches all songs
« on: December 14, 2004, 11:35:48 am »

I keep looking at all the options at the bottom of the Import Media box, but I cannot see what I should turn on or off to change this. . .

Whenever I import media -- in this case, one folder with 25 song files in it -- MC first searches through my entire library of 23,000+ files before doing the import.

What is it doing? How do I choose to not do this?

Thanks.

Do you have Fix or repair broken links turned on?

I do, but I don't think I have any (broken links, that is). The box said it was searching files for external changes (what is this? I think I get the general idea, but what exactly is it doing/looking for?). I didn't think I had any external changes either, but whatever it was looking for, it found 1215 of them.
