I am starting to depair at all these installation problems
I have never had this much trouble trying to package a piece of software before - and I do this sort of this for a living !
I know of at least 2 other people who have managed to get both v0.1 and v0.2 installed directly from the MJP file so there is obviously "something" right with it.
Those of you who are experiencing problems please tell me the following :
- operating system
- MC version
Assuming the DLLs are unzipped correctly, you need to open a command prompt and "cd" to the plugin dir. Then type "regsvr32 mcscrobbler.dll". That's all the MJP file is supposed to do (hence my frustration at it seemingly not being able to do it reliably !). If this reports any errors, try unregistering the old plugin first using "regsvr32 /u mcscrobbler.dll" and then registering it again. If you still get errors, please post the error message here.
If you can't even find the DLLs on your system (and they should be in C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\Plugins) then download the ZIP file directly using
http://accessories.musicex.com/mediacenter/mc_data/plugins/731.zip and unzip into that directory manually.
Sorry for those of you who are experiencing problems. I never anticipated that it would be this hard for what is essentially a trivial bit of software.
