Wrong size reported on Karma -
« on: December 17, 2004, 05:01:42 pm »

Now that I finally got MC to recognize my Karma I find that I can't transfer files. I have 252MB free on the device. When I try to transfer from MC, MC reports the following:
"16 files - 41MB - 203.9MB Available"

Okay, wrong size reported but so far, so good. When I hit transfer however, MC gives the following:
"You have attempted to transfer more music than can fit on your device. Your device can store only 2.1GB of music. Please remove tracks..."

2 things here; first, my Karma holds 20GBs, not 2.1. Secondly, MC already saw that I had enough room on the device before I hit transfer.

The first part makes sense if MC is treating 1k as 1024 rather than 1000.

Update: I had MC set to convert to WMA 192 during the conversion.  The pre conversion file size was 101 MB, still within my free space. After the conversion, the file sizes were 62MB.

I had to convert the files separately, copying them to another location. Then, MC would transfer the files. When I did that, MC reported 16 files/62MB/183.1MB free. The free space was the same so I don't know why it reported a second wrong free space.
