.... littered through my collection (some 1300 files) I have about 100 "missing files"  I can see then with the little icon when I click on the Artist/Album in the tree.  Is there a way to filter those files in the Library but missing?  That would let me know which files I need to re-RIP.  Thanks

A few thoughts:

1) If you haven't written too much to your drive yet, do try "PC Inspector File Recovery" to see if you can recover the files.  It works well.

2) I have a standard WMDM-compatible player and have never seen it delete files (though there was a short period of time when the library was prone to corruption using handhelds).  I understand the iPod plugin is different in some ways so I'm just stating this for whatever it's worth.  Are you sure MC deleted those files and didn't just report their deletion?  Are they the exact files that you had in your playlist?

Make a Smartlist with the following expression: [=FileExists([Filename])]=0

Sort of works accept it has a song that does exist and does play???

From my 23721 library entries that search found 675 CUE tracks (filenames in the library look like this: filename.mp3;n , where "n" is the corresponding track number), 6 internet radio stations (URLs saved to the library), three valid music tracks (links and files seem to be OK) and one missing disk file (the filename was changed outside MC).
