hi guys!!


i have started using Netremote not long ago (2 weeks) and i have been having loads of crashes with MC. im using the media bridge at port 20002. alot of time it starts stutering and then crashes other times it just crashes? has anyone been having these problems?

Hello, I have just recently installed Netremote on my new PDA (Siemens SX66 Smartphone) running Windows 2003 Phone Edition and have similar problems as Zeltak.

Often there is delayed response and then a sudden catch up of commands that are sent all at once, and then there are times when Media Centre locks and I have to end the task in XP and restart. Netremote sometimes hangs too and I have to soft reset the PDA.

I'm running the latest build of 11 alpha...I wonder if Proximis will support their NetRemote Pro on Alpha Software...

I also installed NetRemote and MC11 two weeks ago, but I've not had any crashes like this yet. I run NetRemote on a Dell Axim X3i.
Apart from a library problem that is now solved, I only have one more problem and that is that sometimes I'm not able to start NetRemote (nothing happens) on the PDA and I have to soft reset.

Hi, Zeltak!  I have none of the problems you mention, and I'm running MC11 with 6 zones on the main media server, with very extensive use of both PPC and Win32 versions NetRemote. And those who know me will know that I never run anything on the main media server before it's been thoroughly tested on other computers in the house, since I fear the wrath of mrs. Mastiff if something isn't working!  I have used 4-5 different Alphas/betas of MC 11 on that computer so far, and 10-15 on the test computer, with no problems. There has to be something wrong in your setups.

Are you using the latest released versions of NetRemote? Not the official release, but the NetRemote forum release (1.0.16.0).

Any such problems as the ones you describe and I would have been breathing down Ben's neck before you even got your breakfast!

Is it possible that you are trying to send too many tracks to 'playing Now'? 

If so I have to say that attempting to play thousands of tracks and then expecting the details of all those tracks to be streamed to your PDA is unrealistic.  If you are playing tracks at random you should create some view schemes that limit the number of tracks that are played.
