program crashes when ripping CD's

Hi,
I downloade your program because I wanted manage my wma's and an Ipod I own at work.
 The first day I downloaded media center it worked ok. But now all it seems to do is crash. Mostly when I try to rip. I own a media center pc with 05 update. I would really like to get this program to work. Any ideas?
Windows programs do not crash nor does nero or sonic.

Another program may have too tight a grip on the CD drive.  Try disabling other drive related software.

Try ripping a few  tracks to wav and later encoding them to see if the crash is related to ripping or to encoding.

Well i tried that and it is an encoding issue. What I did next was changed my preferences in windows mediaplayer to a different codec that what i wanted to use in media center. So far it has worked. Is ther there any other issues to look for?
