OT: Did Anyone get some snow last nite?

I guess Lake George, NY, where I live, got the least of last night's snowstorm: 12 inches (30 cms for you metrics')

Some were between 6" and 9" fell starting yesterday morning

This has been a strange winter in Helsinki, Finland. We got some snow on early December, but it melted away and the temperatures have been well over the freezing point until now. The day before yesterday we got about 15 cm (~ 6 inches) snow and I hope it stays for a while. Usually we have a lot of snow at this time of the year.

Upstate New York here.  Just shoveled the moon's weight in snow.  Had to take a break each time my heart rate went above 300, which was approximately every four seconds.  I'm pretty sure if I touch my ears, they'll shatter.

No snow this week, just rain, rain and more rain with unseasonably high temps ( it was 14 degrees Celcius the other day here in Victoria)!  We have had record amounts thanks to the Pineapple Express,  which is melting the snow we got two weeks ago, causing flooding, the ocassional landslide (one in the city of Vancouver which claimed a life), others on the Sea to Sky highway and ruining the skiing season at Whistler/ Blackcombe and Mt. Washington.

We have some storms here in Europe too.

In Switzerland we got arond 40 inches (100 cm) in Zermatt, still snowing.

Some regions here welcome the snow for their skiing tourists. Others had a lot of heavy accidents on the roads.

But not to compare with the situation today in the USA.  I would wear one or two more sweaters (at least).

We got about 10 inches with that last "East Coast" storm, which brought the snowpile in my back yard almost up to the top of my thigh (it was cold going out to the compost bin today).  Good thing we didn't get the 24 inches they were calling for (a good hunk of the storm blew out to sea down south of us).... I love the snow but that would have been a bit much! (Downeast Maine, USA in case you were wondering.)
