Transfer to folder?
« on: February 22, 2005, 10:37:03 am »

I'm using MC to encode-on-the-fly/transfer files to my PDA's memory card (SD), via card reader.

The process works fine, except that MC insists on putting the new files into the SD card's root directory. I need to put them in a heirarchy under a subdirectory (/AUDIO/Artist/Album).

Is there any way to do this?

TIA...

I haven't done it will memory cards, but here's what works with an MP3 player my wife has that is seen by MC as a hard drive....

When it shows up under "devices" in the left hand pane, right click it.  You should see an option for arranging the folder structure.  There are some choices to choose from.
Not sure if you can get it off the root or not.

If your files must be in a folder called 'Audio' post the name exactly as it appears in the MC tree and I can add code to make this occur automatically (assuming your PDA appears to your system as a WMDM device. I will be able to tell this from the name.

The "root" on the audio card(s) shows up as H:\AUDIO in MC. I want to have the directory for individual albums like this:

+ ARTIST 1
      + ALBUM 1
      + ALBUM 2
+ ARTIST 2
      + ALBUM 3

And so forth...

Thanks, Steve!
