I'm not sure if this problem is specific to MC11. I have a DVD rip of a concert that was encoded with Xvid. The audio is MP3 256kbs ABR.

When I play this in Media Center, there is a VERY audible flanging effect. The crowd noise and instrument intros do this very badly.

If I play the same video with BS Player, the sound is perfect. I could easily ABX 100/100 on this.

FWIW, I'm using XP with an M-Audio 2496. I've tested on both the digital and analog outputs. Same thing occurs on both.

I also have the audio cd of the same show. No problems with that.

Any ideas?
