« on: April 07, 2005, 07:36:13 pm »

We're still working on Media Center 11.  We appreciate your bug reports, but MC11 may not work as expected and we can't fully support it.  If you want to use MC 11 while we're building it, PRICES are here: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=23311

For a more trouble-free experience, please download Media Center 10 here:
http://www.jrmediacenter.com/download.html

Media Center 11 is available here:
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter110233.exe

Please post bugs you're sure about here.  Anything else and especially anything that requires an answer should be posted in a new thread with a subject like "MC11 problem with ..." or "MC11 question about ....".    Feature requests should be postponed until we've finished 11.0.  Thanks.  -- JimH

Hmmm...not sure whether the Nomad Jukebox stuff is fixed yet...

When I first installed this version, hooked up my Nomad Jukebox 3, and clicked on Drives & Devices, it said it was initialising for a few seconds, and then MC crashed. I fired up MC again, and tried again, this time MC said it was initialising, and then tried downloading the latest Nomad Jukebox package, which it seemed to do about 5-6 times, saying it was initialising device between each download, then it just comes up with a dialog box saying "Initialisation Falure. Device Not Found."

Tried this again after a reboot...same result...

MC said it was initialising, and then tried downloading the latest Nomad Jukebox package, which it seemed to do about 5-6 times, saying it was initialising device between each download, then it just comes up with a dialog box saying "Initialisation Falure. Device Not Found."

I had this same problem with my Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra.

As a note, I read this thread before I updated MC, so after I finished installing 233 I decided to manually update the Jukebox plug-in to 11.0.18 before I connected my device. But alas, I had the same problem.

Don't complain, Nomad people. When I first hooked up my iPod with this version, MC said the player was initializing and then started deleting all songs....

I had problems drag-dropping music files from MC to a folder on my FireWire drive in this version and version .232.  The copy process would start and would get 5-6 songs in, and then would hang.  This definately worked before, as I use it a lot (though I'm not sure of the version number when I last used it sucessfully).

I have not yet tested drag-drop copying to a folder on the desktop or anywhere else yet (sorry, I ran out of time with the wife standing behind me with the tapping foot and all), but I will tonight.

EDIT: I thought I should mention, when I was having the drag-drop copy problem from MC, I was able to copy these same files over to the FireWire drive from within Windows Explorer with no problems at all (after I "end tasked" on MC - which unfroze my Windows Explorer window).  My point being that it was MC, not the hard drive or corrupt files or anything...

don't know if someone pointed this one yet or for how long it's been around but there's a sure way of crashing MC following these steps.

Have a folder with a list of mp3s and a playlist pointing to these files.
Import the files and the playlist.
Rename the files but leave the playlist untouched.
Import again asking MC to fix broken links and update the library for external changes.

then MC will crash before the import is completed.

My 20 GB ipod is working fine with this build.
I have a habit of syncing my ipod with prior version immediately prior to installing the latest build.  Then I sync again right after installing the build.
Also, I don't insert the ipod in the cradle with MC running.  I always have the ipod attached and recognized by the O/S before launching MC.
