Pictures Have Been updated

As the program runs it will find the music on a chart it will ask you if you wish to pull info from that chart. It will record your responce and put it in a get and a do not get list, that you can modify later if you wish.

there is a setting on the setup page to allow for all charts, so once it runs into a chart it does not know it will just add it to the "Allow Authorized list"

This Version Charted 88 Files That I Had That Have Not Been Charted By the older version.

I think i will be adding a manual mode with a next and back button.

currently if you click on the list of songs, the plug-in will ask you if you wish to change the song name. this was usefull for me one one file that was named "Up Up And Away" When The Chart Had It Listed As "Up - Up And Away' This Made Me Think that a better way of matching could be added to the program by striping all non alpha numeral chrs.

currently the program will Crossmatch where the songname you have is matched with the database, and then if no match the database is matched to your songname on the fly as the data is red from the data file.

the datafile is downloaded once, and if the plug-in needs it again it checks your drive first if not found then it will connect to the spartasoft server and is downloaded if it exists. this makes for a faster match and your not waiting for a Tx of the data.

the list will also show you other songs that have hit the charts from that artist.

not all charts are the same the way the song name is listed (normal I guess)

on the settings page, Auto rating Can be slected where the music will change the MC rating depending on how it charted.

if you allow the program to use all the charts or the allowed charts it will incriment the rating if it finds it charted better on another chart.

The plug-in will correct dates with the found charted date

You can save the Peek # in any field you enter

you can "Save Chart Info To Field" using any phrase you wish, you can use the following in your mask:

Aval: [P]=Position,  [Y]=Year, [AL]=Album, [AR]=Artist, =SongName, [R]=Rating

Default is : Charted At [P] In [Y]

What ever field you select ("Comment" is default) you can use

Replace Text, Prepend Text (I think someone made up that word), and Append Text

There is also A Bypass Word So if it is found in the "Chart Info Field" it will bypass the file

Default is "Charted"

Almost ready

I need to do some more testing, tweeking, and resize stuff (i hate to create resizing code).

I did finish the better matching code yesterday when i was playing with it and did put the manual advance code in thats all working fine.

soon however.

I have to work on this inbetween stomping on Roaches & termites etc..

Auto-Scroll on the Events List would be nice ... it always stays at the top.
Also, I'm not seeing anywhere that tells you how many matches it found ... the Data Received on the events list doesnt ever change?

It's a bit slow, but its working well.

Any way to download your entire database?  So I dont have to let it do all the lookups?

there is almost 17,000 database files, 14 MEGS

the program only downloads what it needs

it is still faster than the old plug-in.

As the program runs it will find the music on a chart it will ask you if you wish to pull info from that chart...

This new.

But it would save me a lot of time to choose the welcome charts with one or two clicks in the setup. Now Chart Finder asks me for every single year of the UK-Charts? Do I have to wait, sit and click here for hours? Or is there a mistake on my side?

You Can circumvent the way the plug-in works by editing

the file "Allowed List.txt" in Notepad this file is in the plug-in folder

and add what you want

Uk Top 40 1962
Uk Top 40 1963
Uk Top 40 1964
etc...

then save the list, load media center and then. you will not need to set there for hours....

Thanks for your hint. Will type all the years (43 lines or more only for U.K.-charts) in the txt-file. There's no easier solution? :P

Thanks for your plugin with the actual charts! I'll type like hell. :)

Cut And Paste

Uk Top 40 19

then just add the rest of the line

you could write a program that generates the required fields, but that may take you longer if you do not know how to program.

I have my computer to do things like this... (That's the reason I have one). ;)

Just one click like it was before (the genious programmer was KingSparta, if I remember correct).

Alternative: Ask about the chart once and forget the years.

King--

I know I've mentioned this with past versions of Chart Finder and you were able to implement it before: match on artist field in lastname, firstname format. Unless I'm missing a setting the current version appears to work only in firstname lastname order? It would really be a shame to have to flip the order just to get CF to work only to have to flip it around again.
