CD burn error MC11.252
« on: April 30, 2005, 04:49:02 pm »

when trying to burn disc, keep getting error "burn CD or DVD is currently unavailable. Please ensure a suitable burner is installed on this machine, Also make sure you are using a local library or are not in party mode" (I have neither). So I exported my playlist to the dreaded WMP 10.0 and it burned the disc fine. I went to options/CD writer/detect, and it detected it just fine, but I still get the same error code. I downloaded .250 just to see if it was a bug in the latest release, but the same results apply. I checked auto run and auto insert details, they are both off.I troubleshot the burner thru XP, it says it is working fine. Any ideas??

I have been getting the same error as well; up to .250 so far. I will install .252 in a moment.

I kept losing my burner. EAC, XPSP2, and MC11 won't recognize the burner. I attributed this to XpSP2 so I got a new PCI usb 2.0 card; the new ALI card with firewire and usb 2.0 on the same chip. Now I don't lose the burner, ever, but I can't burn with MC. It locks up anywhere from track 2, to near the very end of a burn either decoding direct or not.

I have a new NEC firewire drive on the way and will try that.

Are these burning problems external related; you guys using external burners by any chance?

Over the past couple of days, I've burned 3 CDRs that made no sound. The first 2 were on .252 and the third was just now on .254. On both CD players (3) and running on the CDRW through MC .254, no sound comes out but the counter counts and the song title shows -- just no music. Previously burned CDRs work fine.

Are your libraries local or remote, I think I just figured my problem out.
