MC11 & MC10 together one the same pc?
« on: July 11, 2005, 12:58:53 am »

I'm not so fond of that iTunes and while waiting for Larry's notes for version 11 I thought of

using MC10 with my new iPod :)

So, can they be on the same pc? Should maybe in different folders, though? :-\

I'm sure I have seen information here but can't find it when I need it.

I have lost my Installation Key for version 10. Can I use the one for version 11 or do I have to

restore? I still have my Registration Code.

I found my key. Sometimes you are a man of order.

Hi Mats,

Yes, 10 & 11 can co-exist on the same computer, but only 1 instance can run at a time.

I run v10 on my Laptop in my car and as the databases of 10 & 11 are not compatable, I have both installed on my HTPC. (I have an older IBM Thinkpad for the carputer and v11 is too cpu intensive for the old machine)

It's a bit of a pain having to keep 2 databases updated. I enter new stuff and do any tagging and changes I want to show up in both versions on MC10, do a library backup and then copy the backup zip file into the MC11 backup folder and do a library restore to bring MC11 up to date.

Anything I don't need in the carputer I just enter directly into MC11.

Alex was doing it this way for a while until he trusted v11, but I think he only runs v11 now.

selv tak, Jay.

I'm a halv dansker! My mother is from Copenhagen. My parents worked for the US military in Germany after the war and I grew up in Germany, spending the summers in Denmark every year until I graduated from high school. I and my 2 sisters were born in Heidelberg. They are still there, I moved to the states in'82.

I never learned to write in danish much, but can speak and read Danish and  understand Norwegian pretty well and a little Swedish (but that's really another language  ;D).

Nice to here.

Myself was born i Helsingborg and moved to Lund 30 km from Copenhagen over Malmoe.

I'm going to Denmark in this week since I am one week free from work.

So different isn't the  two languages, though.

Danish & Norwegian are quite similar. My familiy says they have traced our roots back to Gorm den Gamle, the first viking king who of course ruled most of scandinavia and Germany at the time.

I have spent a lot of time the Helsingborg/Malmoe area, we used to take the ferries across to visit relatives in Helsingborg and buy cigarettes and alcohol duty free on the ferry.

During summertime in the sixties I worked on the ferries between Helsingborg and

Helsingoer.

Now a days we use to go to Germany to buy our alcohol. The duty in Sweden is still a littel

bit too high.

How small the world is!
I could have bumped into you on those ferries back in the sixties!
