DVD Playback performance too poor
« on: June 12, 2005, 12:11:41 pm »

I scarcely use MC11 to play DVD movies, because the playback is very poor, it looks like a screensaver made with snapshots of the dvd movie, including the sound.

My laptop is a P4 1.5Ghz with 512MB RAM with a ATI Radeon 7500 with 32 MB RAM. I do not think this is the problem because when I use InterVideo WinDVD everything works fine,  Is there any set in MC11 to improve dvd playback performance++

Seeing that nobody has replied to this thread yet, I might as well make a small suggestion.

Can you try installing the Nvidia decoder and see if it still lags when playing back dvd?

http://www.nvidia.com/object/dvd_decoder.html

It is one of the best standalone decoder and I can assure you that the quality of it is way better than the decoder that comes with Powerdvd and WinDvD. And no, you don't need a Nvidia graphics card to use it. I am using it with a ATi Radeon 9800.

Cheers!
