Not long ago I've suggested that the xml export plug-in could be used to export data from MC's library to musicmobs.com.

for those of you who don't know musicmobs:

Musicmobs is similar to audioscrobbler except that it exports not what you play on your computer, but your complete playcount. As a result your musical profile would be much more accurate than audioscrobbler's, and this for 2 reasons: 1) if you have an old MC library, it would take into account everything you've played since you installed that good old Media Jukebox. 2) If you listen to music a lot on a portable device, this listening (after sync with MC library) will be taken into account as well.

As matter of fact, because I do a lot of listening on my iPod, and because I don't listen to the same things when I'm out with my iPod, my audioscrobbler profile is already different from my musicmobs profile after only a few weeks of parallel use:

(check out the 'In heavy rotation' section on the left, that's also a nice feature... as you can see musicmobs is rather album-oriented while audioscrobbler is more track-oriented)

Now, musicmobs.com originally used a program called Mobster for Mac OS that  watches the music you play in iTunes and uses recommendation information from Musicmobs to suggest other bands that you may like. So far, Windows users only had the possibility to export and upload their itunes library to the website and get their recommandations from there as well.

The good news (maybe?) is that there's now a Mobster 1.0 for Windows (http://mmobster.sourceforge.net/) and that it's open source (http://mmobster.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=52).

I'm no programmer and I was wondering if there would be any chance that someone could develop a plug-in for MC to use this service. It would be so nice to have old listening habits and tracks listened to on portable devices taken into account and to get recommandations and stats right into MC.
