OT - Death Star Subwoofer
« on: July 19, 2005, 12:41:32 pm »

Of course, this showed up on Slashdot, so the price could easily get way out of control.  However, if any of you from the U.K. are interested, someone is selling a custom Subwoofer shaped like the DeathStar.  Due to it's size and weight, he isn't offering to ship it and it must be picked up from him in Reading.

Quote
In my batchelor days I decided I needed a subwoofer for my lounge, a subwoofer so powerful it could loosen fillings, shake out the colesteral from my arteries and generally make a lot of noise. It seemed to me that the Death Star, ignoring the weakness that ultimately lead to it's complete destruction, was a pretty good design... so I made my own

He goes on to say that he did model the design on WinISD, so the setup should be solid.  Some people have way too much time...

Wow.  If you are that into it, you really need the subwoofer.
