Playing .cue files
« on: July 28, 2005, 07:30:30 pm »

How is one supposed to get MC 11 to play .cue files?

The only mention in Help is under New Features: "CUE file playback support with sample-accurate MP3 seeking".

And Open Media File on my .cues says "Media Center was unable to play any of the files in the playlist...."

Thanks.

Have you checked your cue file to make sure that it is pointing to the right file?

You can open it with notepad...look for a line like...

FILE "Best of the 80's.mp3"

should be like the second line

The cue file looks fine, and it plays in EAC (its creator).

It says

 FILE "Tango Selection TSE1V3.wav" WAVE

and in the same folder there is a file Tango Selection TSE1V3.wav.

In Help, I look for the very first menu command (File | Open Media File), and find no mention at all.

If you browse to that directory in MC, (use the left pane with its explorer like interface) do u see the cue items (in the right pane)

If so select them, right click ->Add to playing now.

If you don't see the cue items then there is a syntax problem with your cue file.
