I thought I'd post a handy guide to those looking to review MC on this or that site.
First, spelling counts. You may not think so, but why would I take someone's word for how great something is when they can't figure out how to spell check?
Remember what you Mommy told you "First impressions are lasting impressions".
Second, don't say "Yeah there are lots of problems, but man they are worth it because of the high speed fravistat." Because frankly, many are not interested in the fravistat, high speed or not. Like the library MC has. Many don't even know they need one. Until they get it and then it is indispensable.
Third, saying MC is expensive but worth it is in the same vein. The price is posted. Why point it out again? Because if you think it is worth it, so will others.
Fourth, "MC Rulez! M$ suks" isn't going to attract anyone. That, more than anything, tells me I am reading about a weird app that has a group of fanboys.
Fifth, tell how easy it is to use, tell how you use it. Did you rip 50 CDs with tagging and cover art while you slept? Say so.
Lastly, don't respond to someone else's review. "Dweezel22 is whacked if he doesn't love this." Let your review do the talking. People are kinda smart. They can see past assassination attempts. Given enough fair comment anyway.
