Suggestion: Track Alias
« on: August 04, 2005, 03:23:47 pm »

Not sure if this is presently possible. If not, it would be nice. If yes, maybe someone can tell me how to do it.

I have many Greatest Hits type albums and in many cases I also own several of the albums by that artist. In such cases, I rip only the unique tracks from the greatest hits so as not to clog up my hard drive with duplicates.

However, I am a completist and I would like to be able to see/play all the tracks on the Greatest Hits album.

Therefore, I would like to be able to add an alias into the greatest hits that would point to a track elsewhere. In this way, I could view and play the Greatest Hits album as if I had ripped all tracks.

Any thoughts or pointers?

It depends on what format you rip them to.
