Problem Playing Promotion-MP3
« on: October 02, 2002, 07:20:04 am »

Hi!

I have a problem with a promotional MP3-file.

You can download this file at this link:

http://www.rap.de/bundestagswahl/antistoiberpopup.html

The file is called "waehltnichtstoiber_lo.mp3" and offered to download from three servers.

My copy is refused to play by MJ with the message "Please select file(s) to play". That irritates me, because other player on my PC like WinAmp 2.80, WinAmp 3.0 and Windows Media Player 6.4 DO play this file. I have no idea why, perhaps because the MP3 is not fully with the specifications, but please fix this, because this possible difficulty can be handled by those other players. ? :-/

Sincerely

Michael,

I can't reproduce the problem.

I tried downloading the file and playing from my HD. Also, I tried playing the file directly from the site: http://www.rap.de/bundestagswahl/bundespics/wahltnichtstoiber_lo.mp3   both methods worked.

What version of Media Jukebox are you running?

Media Jukebox  8.0.372
Install Path: E:\Programme\Media Jukebox\

CPU: AMD Athlon 1307 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 261 MB, Free - 104 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000  Workstation 5.0 Service Pack 3 (Build 2195)

Internet Explorer: 5.50.4807.2300
ComCtl32.dll: 5.50.4807.2300
Shlwapi.dll: 5.50.4807.2300
Shell32.dll: 5.00.3502.5436
wnaspi32.dll: N/A

Well, perhaps others had the same problem and they webmastes re-encoded it, so your version works?

Yesterday one of the download-servers seemed to be down. Now, at this moment the link isn't even loadable! Perhaps a site update?
